Welcome to Normanhurst Mixed Probus Club
Next meeting: Wednesday - 9th October at 12:15pm for 12.45pm start
October Speaker: Mark Bundy
Rookwood is not only the largest cemetery in the southern hemisphere, but the largest operating Victorian cemetery in the world, containing over 1 million graves. The
cemetery now hosts over 2,000 internments per year, providing for 89 religious beliefs and 14 different types of internment. Mark has filled several different roles
since starting work at the Cemetery. He loves Australian history and his access to all aspects of the Cemetery has revealed many interesting stories. He will
speak about the history of the Cemetery, some of his experiences there and about some of the stories he has discovered.
